History
The core of CPI’s business was
established in Minneapolis in 1980 as part of Personnel Decisions
International (PDI). It was knows as the Career Management Services
(CMS) Division of PDI and provided outplacement services as its primary
service offering. Patricia Berg, CEO of Career Partners International,
was involved in its start-up in the early 1980’s. In 2000, after
a ten year absence from PDI, Patricia returned to lead the division
through its next stage of development.
In 2002 the CMS division joined forces with Career Partners International
to broaden its service delivery capability both nationally and internationally.
The association with CPI as a member firm provided the technology
and network to offer its global clients the coverage they required.
In 2005, Lee Skaalrud, President of CPI, joined PDI after relocating
back to his home state from Texas where he played a key leadership
role in a CPI partner firm.
Together Patricia and Lee acquired the business from PDI in 2006.
CPI carries on the proud tradition of behavior assessment tools and
resources in its practice and enjoys a strategic partnership with
PDI.
The acquisition of the business enabled CPI to enhance its service
offerings to include employee Retention and Development in addition
to Career Transition Services.
